Worried that it would be too theme parky or kitschy....Well it IS kitschy but it is the right kind of kitschy. The place is not very big with a 6 or 8 seat bar, a small area to wait for a table, a main dinning room with 8 booths or so and about 10 dining tables. There is a small dance floor but it is more for the singer than for dancing. There is a second room for large groups or overflow seating but it was not air conditioned the night we came.....and I can not imagine trying to dine in there with temps about 15 degrees higher than the restaurant. My only real complaint is that the temp in the dining room was about 76 degrees and it felt a little stuffy and warm.
1. Make a reservation.
2. Ask for a booth
3. Be willing to play along
4. Have a martini or two
5. The "Sinatra" singer is actually really good and he smelled nice too.
6. Use your cell phone flashlight instead of the mini flash lights they give you to read the menu.
7. A candelabra on your cell phone can be a nice touch on your table
8. Go for it. Dress like a gangster, grab your favorite dame, and don't forget your hat.
The food was good. But if you come back it will be for the experience and probably not the calamari.
