When I adopted my dog in February from the Nevada SPCA, I was given paperwork that said she was fixed. After she went through a heat cycle, and it was confirmed by a Vet she was indeed not fixed, I brought her to Dewey Veterinary Medical Center inside of the Nevada SPCA to get her spayed since it was their mistake and they were willing to cover the costs of the procedure.
When I dropped her off, I instantly had a bad feeling. The lady who does the intake had zero personality and was so rude. She had no regard for my animal or any of the other animals she interacted with while I was there. They had the wrong name on file for the surgery - her old name while she was in the shelter. When I corrected her with the right name she said, "yeah, whatever."
I was supposed to pick her up at 2pm that same day. I got a call at 2pm that she needed to stay overnight for observation because she went in to heat again. Then, when I went to pick her up they said she was still in heat. Something told me this really wasn't true because when I picked her up, the incision was bloody and caked on dried blood leading me to believe there was a complication they didn't want to tell me about and that she was not in heat.
They couldn't keep their story straight and I'm convinced they're all truly incompetent. I will not be taking her back to get the stitches removed and will be seeking to have them removed by another veterinary practice.
