  • Checked out The Cleveland Bagel Co. while in Cleveland, Ohio for the Cleveland Marathon in May. After all, while looking to carbo load what possibly is better than fresh bagels! The shop is a bit off the beaten path and I took a bus to a stop nearby and then walked to the shop. When walking into the shop, a bright counter with a glass display proudly showing off the bagels of the day immediately draws you in. You can see the staff making the bagels behind a glass window and everything gives off the right impression that this is going to be amazing. I ordered a sesame bagel with plain cream cheese and the bagel lived up to all expectations. The bagel was crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Because I was running a marathon the next day, since I destroyed bagel #1 in record time I then opted for a bagel with cranberries in it with butter for a second treat; that one did not disappoint either. While sitting in the bagel shop, it is clear this is a huge neighborhood spot and the takeout business of people loading up on bagels for the week ahead was evident. This place would be amazing in any neighborhood and would definitely require more running by me if it were in mine. If ever back in Cleveland, I will be sure to check out The Cleveland Bagel Co again! And be sure you check it out if in Cleveland, too!
