  • Cleo's at SLS Las Vegas 2535 Las Vegas Blvd South, Las Vegas, NV 89109 I've tried all the SLS restaurants and came away disappointed by most, but Cleo's is their shining star. I say this surprising myself, because I don't really like Mediterranean food. We chose it because my son wanted to try it. Or I should say - I never liked it before. I have to say that the service and food has been overall disappointing in many of the SLS restaurants with the exception of CLEO'S and Ku Noodles. Our night at Cleo's was fabulous, almost a complete five stars across the board. SERVICE: The service was, hands down, the best service I have had at a SLS or any Las Vegas restaurant in a very long time. Most restaurants are hiring young, perky, pretty totally inept servers ... but Cleo's workers from hostess to busboy to server were just the BEST. My beverage glasses were never below half before refilled. We were checked on numerous times, food arrived fast and in a very timely manner and it was the right temperature. The servers were attentive without being bothersome. Wow. Kudos to the entire staff for actually training and using the best servers. They made our experience exceptional. FOOD: We ordered coffee and water to drink. We changed from sugary beverages to water with lemon as a healthy step, and added coffee as a treat. Some servers give you a cheap look when you order water, but not here, and it came with a side dish of lemons. Nice! The coffee was absolutely delicious. It was strong but not bitter and very tasty. We had appetizers which included Lebaneh with Feta (a dip for $9) and I think it's called laffa bread which comes with it. I though $9 was high for dip, but not for this one! The bread came in a paper bag, nice and warm, and the best bread I've ever tasted. I could have made a meal out of just bread and dip. The dip was feta cheese with a vinegarette tastiness, sooo good, we practically fought over it. We'll order it every visit. We also ordered Spanikopita ($9), which was three triangle shaped crisp dough tapas. I didn't care for these but I'm sure they were made right. My son really liked them. We also ordered the Brussels Sprouts ($12) which was charred with capers, almonds and vinegarette (similar to the Sprouts at Katsayu next door). They are absolutely delicious and I'll order them every visit. For our main course I order the lamb kabobs ($14) which was three small perfectly cooked tender lamb chops with sauce. My son order the Seasonal Flatbread ($14) with gruyere cheese, chili and arugula. The lamb was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Neither of us liked the flatbread. The flavor was just okay, and the bread was a little burnt and over crispy. But that might be the way it comes .. other people have commented that it is very good. For dessert we shared the Sticky Toffee Pudding ($9) which didn't seem like a pudding at all. It was a warm chocolate cake with cold scoop of ice cream in a shallow dish with a little caramel like dripping in the bottom. It was delicious, just not what we expected. AMBIANCE: The restaurant has a beautiful layout and decorations. However, we found the tables, especially those for just two people, to be very small. There was barely room for a plate each, let alone a couple of appetizers with drinks. And it was so loud in the restaurant that we almost had to shout to share comments about the food. Some of the noise came from the music, but the rest was from people around us just being very, very loud and boisterous. Maybe that's part of the Mediterranean personality. SCORE: Service ... 5 stars Food ... 5 stars Ambiance ... 3 stars The total for our meal for two people was $84.
