| - Still my favorite mid-range hotel on the Strip (ahead of Flamingo and behind Cosmo). It's gone downhill a LOT recently but for those who didn't visit right after the renovations, it's not that noticeable. I aim to stay here 3-4 times a year and am always pleased with the rooms, view, the pool, and location. It's smack dab in the middle of the Strip making it easy to get around. You're also located next to a variety of affordable eateries and a Walgreens making it convenient to stock up on snacks and water.
What would have been my 5 star review a year ago is quickly turning into a solid 4 due to the lack of communication by staff to guests. Two visits ago, they gave my room keys to another guest, so on the second night of my trip, I found people waiting outside my room saying they were just in the room and realized people's stuff was in there. I had about $600 in cash in the bathroom and they definitely were in the room as they opened a soap bar I hadn't been using. No one from the staff apologized for having other guests in our room and they made me wait at the check in desk for new keys instead of bringing the new keys up to the room. They never asked if anything was stolen and didn't respond to my email or call about it.
Last visit, we were given an un-serviced room first before again, needing to change rooms. Finally today at check in we were confirmed a non-conjoined room just to arrive in a conjoined room. After calling and kindly asking for a new room and being told our keys would be up momentarily, they forgot about us for almost two hours and again, didn't apologize. The room we were given was "mr. Webber's room" and it had a ripped headboard and missing shampoo.
In all, I absolutely love the location, the rooms, the view, and how tropical it feels but the small setbacks with getting into an accurate room (and the not giving the same keys to someone else) continues to eat up time at a good fraction of our visits. I love this hotel that much though, that I remain hopeful one of these trips I'll get a clean, fully-stocked room...then it will go back to being my favorite hotel on the Strip.
