The bathroom floors could kill you.
My husband and I had a King size jacuzzi suite for his 30 years of service Pin dinner. My husband showered first, using the towel mat provided. I went into have my shower about five minutes after. I didn't see a small wet spot on the super shiny smooth marble floor. My feet went out from under me and I had to twist to avoid cracking my head on the sharp marble at the base of the shower.
We were running late for the dinner, so we didn't talk to management that night. The dinner was well done, a nice venue and we enjoyed catching up with old friends.
When we returned to our suite, I had the jacuzzi bath I'd been looking forward to, but was so worried about falling again I crawled around in hands & knees drying every inch of the floor. I then laid towels and mats all over. It wasn't pretty, but at least it was safe.
The next morning my husband used the hotel's internet comment on the wifi to report what happened. Later he phoned and spoke to a supervisor. He denied getting the report, so we spoke to him again at check out. Not only did he not apologize, he suggested we hadn't been careful enough and that it was my fault I fell. He didn't even want to put warning signs in the bathrooms to let people know just how slippery the floors are with even a sprinkling of water.
The suite itself had problems too. The French doors between the bedroom and lounge wouldn't shut and a pot light was hanging out of the ceiling. Furnace was noisy like a motel one. Fridge only worked if you left the cabinet doors open as it had no venting.
To add insult to injury (literally) we received a revised bill today, charging us for bottled water that was in the room.
I'm posting pics of the floor and the gash on my shoulder from the edge of the shower.
