Love this place and I drive there almost daily to walk. Be sure to check out the hiking trails in the back past the ball fields--they're one of my favorite easy trail runs! Very safe and wonderful open area for flying kites, setting up a volleyball net, or connecting to the bike/hike metro paved path. Also, go camping there! Stow residents have a discounted rate and though they only have a few campsites, they are well maintained and patrolled by park workers. I went on a beautiful moonlit picnic by the pond with my BF when we camped there. I love this place and feel lucky we have it so close!
Why 4 stars? Simple-the dog park. I can't stand that area! Ask any dog owner in the area and if they are a responsible dog owner, they know to stay away from it! A number of my friend's dogs have gotten sick from that place and just look at the water the dogs are in! It's not cleaned! The place is staffed by good-meaning volunteers but they cannot accomplish all that needs to be done. I wish the city would make people pay a membership to have their dogs allowed to go there to pay for clean-up and maintaining the fenced in grounds. Even a $10 yearly fee could keep some of the people with non vaccinated dogs out.
