If you want to buy clothes that fall apart after a few months, you can get them cheaper elsewhere.
I bought an $80 pair of Utility Cargo Pants in April. I had them for four months, during which I took extremely good care of them and followed the washing instructions to the letter. The other day, a hole as large as my hand appeared in the fabric. They did not catch or rub on anything. The tear is not on a seam, but in the middle of a solid piece of fabric. Simply put, the fabric failed to hold up to normal wear and tear. It is clearly either faulty or poor quality.
I contacted White House Black Market's customer service to see what could be done. After four months, I wasn't looking for a refund. A same-product exchange or store credit would have been fine. I received the following:
"The pants are no longer returnable. Our return policy is 60 days from the purchase date. It is also passed the time frame for the pants to be returned as a defective item."
These pants should have lasted years, not months, especially at the price point. I'm incredibly disappointed. I can't support or patronize a company that doesn't stand behind their products, so I won't be shopping at White House Black Market again.
