| - The food is way overrated. The ambiance, patio, service, decor, and drinks are fantastic, and the shows on the lake are bizarre, I loved them.
The staff were very accommodating as our party went from 4 to 6 to 7 to 6. We asked for and received awesome patio seating in VERY uncomfortable patio chairs. Note to management: get some cushions for those chair backs!
The server was well trained, as were all of the staff. Didn't love the description of what makes beef Kobe, but she didn't hedge with the info and I give her credit for that. Her "I don't mind, I'm not doing it to the animals" was a little snarky, but that's ok.
I was surprised that the only grass-fed beef option was a special. I would assume they'd have had more options.
The staff were flexible with our late-comer who I was ordering for ahead of time, and were concerned about when to start his food; they came up with a plan for that, which was very kind.
The patio is great, especially on a beautiful night like we had. The interior is really beautiful, in a very simple, modern way. Very comfortable looking, while maintaining sophistication.
But back to the food--it was fine. My scallops were good though overpriced, everyone's dinners were fine; no complaining, but no raving at all. And this is a food-raving bunch when it's warranted.
There was nothing special about the scallops, the risotto under, or the grass-fed NY strip. The asparagus was fine, the scalloped potatoes were too much goo and not enough potato, and I'd say the only to-die-for item on the table were the sautéed mushrooms. They were heavenly--but with enough butter, anyone can make heavenly mushrooms.
My bottomline: Won't be back here. We'll try Morels or Del Monico's at the Venetian next time, or continue on our hunt for A++++ restaurants at $$ prices. Because that's when something is really special!
