This isn't a regular farmers market. It is some not for profit outfit.
The long and the short of it is you get a crap load of veggies and occasionally some fruits for $10 (cash)
The bad: The selection sucks. It is quite simply the stuff from Nogales that isn't selling. which means it is always going to be mexican conventionally farmed produce that isn't up to snuff to be sold/shipped. I have many times seen moldy veggies at these places, so pay attention to what you are grabbing. likewise be prepared to compost or throw away 1/3 to 1/2 of what you got before the next weeks event occurs. Also anything that they have that doesn't suck they will put limits on. I hope you like squash as they always seem to have it.
and get there early as well the best stuff is gone by 9 am.
The Good: you get a lot of veggies cheap.
Bottom line: I'm there every week, But I don't look forward to it, in fact I kind of dread it. But I know with $20 between this and ramen you won't starve.
ALSO: they are usually at a church, school, some public type place. always in a parking lot, and there will always be a semi truck there. so If you don't know where you are going like for that type of place then start looking for the semi truck
