I'm torn about my feelings toward Wine and Canvas.
The idea is fun, but the execution is horrible. With some changes at Wine and Canvas, I think they would be a lot more successful.
1. They have an instructor at the front of the room (left hand side wall when you walk in) that paints the same painting in front of you. Miss out on a seat in the middle front couple of rows and you won't be seeing anything. Either give us binoculars or invest in a tv screen/camera to project a larger image on the wall. In just my area alone there were multiple frustrated painters with how much they had to squint!
2. The music is great! However, I wish the instructors mics were up a little louder
3. They played a game where those with a certain artist's name on the bottom of their chair had the chance to win a prize. There were so many seats without names! It took up time and made the experience frustrating for everyone. Disorganization, disorganization, disorganization
The night I went, they had apparently been having AC issues all week (middle of August). There was no apology/announcement in the beginning and many people were complaining. Even afterwards, there was only an apology email sent (nothing verbal) and we were offered a free bottle of wine for your NEXT paint session. After a night of sweating, coming back in was the last thing on everyones mind! The least they could have done was offered free water, cups of ice. They were still charging for water and there were two ladies walking out in the middle of the session because they were so hot and they were not given extra ice in their cup when they asked. Maybe call to make sure their AC is working now?
The price for painting is pretty high, but you can find cheaper prices with a quick google search! Take advantage of the sales! Get on their email list ;)
