| - My previous reviews were all 5 stars but my last few times at the Harris have just been so 'meh' that I'm taking it down to 3 stars.
The Harris is my favorite bar in Pittsburgh and they have fantastic bartenders...Byron, Caleb...mix excellent cocktails w friendly smiles.
BUT. They keep changing the menu and I know many restaurants do this but its starting to get tiring.
If you dine here, please ask what they are out of first and have a back up menu selection made just in case. If you do eat here, I recommend:
The Chicken Riggies
The hamburger
the mac n cheese
The wings
the pierogies
The Henny Penny
The Garden Weasel
I suggest you avoid:
The greek salad. For some reason I ALWAYS get a hair in this salad. And no, they are not strings from onions, they are dark hairs! Eww.
The tarragon dressing: It's basically liquid salt and will render anything you are eating inedible. More effective than Sensa. Trust me.
The Delmonico A go go: sounds like the sandwich is going to be good, but its very gristly and not that great
I really, really, really wish they'd bring the falafel sandwich back but it seems it's gone to Harris Menu Item heaven.
Also, they have good brunches here on Sunday's but it is buffet style when the weather is nice. I like their brunch, but I prefer it when they have a menu in the colder months. With the buffet you can't, for example, just get fried eggs or anything like that. But it still pretty good.
I like this place, but maybe I've just dined here too often? I don't know. I just havent had my mind blown here in awhile.
