| - Our wedding was on July 3, 2015 and because it was a holiday weekend, we knew our out of town guests would want to stay an extra night or two so we decided to reserve a block of rooms with this local resort. It was a very convenient location. It was within walking distance to our wedding venue and surrounded by local restaurants and bars, it was also only a 2 mile drive from our home. Sounds pretty ideal right? I wish I could say yes.
This "resort" was the absolute worst vendor we could have picked, which is a shame because of the convenience of it. When we signed our contract with the event coordinator, Courtney Sommerville, I was instructed to put a specific phone number and website on our invitations for booking ahead of time. Well, it was all the wrong info and our guests kept getting re-routed and transferred because the front office or call center couldn't "locate the room block." We had our contract in front of us, and even we, THE BRIDES, couldn't even reserve a room. After finally getting ahold of a manager and receiving "the best contact number" we sent out a mass text message to our guests to "try again." Again, guests continued being transferred and getting the run around. How can booking a room be so difficult? Our guests were ready to PAY and the hotel didn't know how to handle it. We finally went in person to correct the issue and Courtney finally fixed the issue.
Once guests booked their rooms and began arriving there were STILL many problems: cockroaches in the room, toilets not flushing, house-keeping leaving the doors wide open AFTER cleaning the room, broken elevators and one our guest's room was charged onto MY CREDIT CARD. The problems were absolutely unnecessary and we would never ever recommend anyone to work with them. Courtney attempted to solve the issues but it took several emails and calls to do so. There was no sense of urgency for this so called "resort." So although the location may seem pleasing, it is in your best interest to completely avoid working with unprofessional people who will NOT adequately respond to your guests needs.
