  • I don't like dessert. I will come out and admit that right now. Sugar disgusts me in a way that cod liver oil brings a roll to the stomachs of all of us old enough to have been "treated" by that disgusting potion. But. I liked Menchies. I liked it enough to not protest when asked to go a second time. The idea is cool, really. Put whatever you want in your frozen yogurt and pay for it by the pound. I actually get the feeling I'm getting what I paid for with this method. Some things that made me like this place: quality of yogurt(impressive), kind of yogurt(not just flavor but dairy free, low sugar, low sodium, etc. Wow.), range of toppings(commonplace, inventive, and fresh all can be ascribed. Cinnamon toast crunch and Thin Mint cookie pieces? Surprising.), and the selection of flavors to be mixed(Peanut butter and strawberry share a machine, in effect allowing you to have a PB&J frozen yogurt.). I found their rewards card to be the first to actually make a difference. A point for every dollar, $50=$5 free. A fair system, and they apply it immediately to your order when you reach 50. I received 25 "points" free for signing up and the next visit, the bill for 2 people was $5. Awesome. I could not give this place 5 stars because it has a shitty location, unnaturally annoying clientele(seriously, awash with the stench of tweens and teens in whatever they sell at A&E to scent themselves with), and the buffet-style feels very disorganized. But those are superficial. The food, the reason to show up, is quite good, even if you were born without a sweet-tooth.
