The love that was put into this shop is almost unsurpassed. From the music to every detail including the homage to Dumbledore's office, the self-stirring pot (!!!) the movie soundtracks playing throughout the store and the gorgeous hand painted ceiling, there is no doubt that painstaking care went into creating this Harry Potter haven.
Why such a poor review then if this place is every Potterhead's dream? Every single thing I bought has fallen apart or broken without rough use or lack of caring. Clearly the case of cheap merchandise.
The finish on my measuring spoons is flaking off after a handful of uses even after being dried after every wash ($40), the band on my Deathly Hallows watch just fell apart when I was walking down the street ($40), the quill pen that I bought comes apart every time I take off the cap to write with it ($3). I would have thought that each thing were unfortunate but strange if I had not bought my friend almost the same package of goodies and all of her things are disintegrating as well as the other things she bought.
I would warn that the quality of a lot of these items are more Knockturn Alley and not enough Diagon Alley.
