| - Want to watch a movie in public, but be able to gab with impunity when things get boring? If so, this is your place!
I've only ever been to one other drive-in (in Fort Collins, CO) back in 2007, since I grew up in a place that didn't have a drive-in nearby, so I'd almost forgotten what it was like until coming here last night. I saw The Giver and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (a weird pairing, I know) with a friend. Although I wasn't much into TMNT despite being a fan of the Sat. morning cartoon as a kid, I didn't mind hanging around for it due to being able to talk, and it was fun to be able to make fun of the massive amount of tropes in the movie without having to worry about disturbing others.
As others have mentioned, admission is pretty reasonable compared to many of the traditional movie theaters in the area, and concessions are quite inexpensive. I had the funnel cake (first time I'd had some in at least 5 years), and it was great! For $2.25, you can't beat it! Alternatively, if you plan ahead, you can bring your own food without having to sneak it in, as in traditional theaters.
What a great spot for catching a Fri. night movie, esp. while the weather's still nice! I highly recommend it as a date spot, or just for having a fun time with some friends.
