| - RUN to another car rental dealer. After reserving online with a drop off service at my house, I did not receive any type of phone call as the email confirmation stated. When I contacted them, they stated "well that won't happen, I have 30 cars going out tomorrow, and we only know if someone wants this service if we open up the reservation beforehand, which we don't."
Upon picking the car up, we again expressed our frustration with not having the car delivered as promised, again to be told that they do not offer that as a service, but they have it on the website for other Hertz lcoations. When asked how he would feel about the situation, or what he would do, he stated "I'd just go pick up the car". I then asked for a possible upgrade to our class, and was denied.
The driver of the car we were renting was sitting in the office turning in, and when the agent stated that the car was great on gas, the customer stated it was terrible on gas. We were given the keys, and sent on our way. The car HAD NOT EVEN BEEN CLEANED- there was garbage in cup holders, on the floor, and the windshield was covered in bugs. When asked if we could have it cleaned up, he reluctently agreed, at which time I just wanted to get the hell out of there.
After getting in the car, I realized that there was a 15" crack in the windshield, and called them on the way home. After I was home, I checked the car over, only to find a massive dent, and a large scratch, which had not been noted.
To top off this horrific experience, I find the rental contract from the prior renter in the glove compartment, only to find that we was charged 50 dollars less than me for the same amount of days.
Consider yourself warned.
