  • Dog Owners, READ THE FINE PRINT!!!! Like alot of Nevadans, I hit some harder times and needed an apartment that took big dogs, so Summerhill Pointe seems like the ideal place. Across the street from movies, a drug store, local micro-brew bar and grill, as well as down the street from a nice "Locals," casino. What more could someone ask for? Well, the management as really great, even cutting me a move-in deal. So on moving in, Metro, i actually think it was SWAT,was on site at a different part of the complex. Some woman walked up to me and my friends and asked if we saw a guy run by carrying her purse. After a year and a half of being there, Metro seemed to be in the complex for some reason or another quite a bit. Just because Metro is in the complex does not necessarily mean it's a safe complex. Once I moved in, I took a shower only to find out it creaked when you stood in it and moved around. When I mentioned it to a maintenance guy, he pretty much just told me, it's an old complex and there's nothing he could do. Just deal with it. Maintenance also was at the apartment every couple months to service either the heat or A/C..as it was, my monthly electric bill averaged $140.00. Oh yeah, I was in a 1 bedroom apt. Fast Forward a year an a half, found a new apartment. Even though I was living on a month to month basis, they still want TWO MONTHS notice. And now just got a bill for some damage my dog did in the apartment. Here's where you need to read the fine print..... Turns out that the $300 non-refundable fee paid for the dog up front as well as the $25 a month I paid for pet rent, does not go to any damage the dog may cause. I'm not upset about the $300 being nonrefundable, I'm just upset that the money goes to helping that quarter's net profit only. That means I paid an additional $775, as well as an additional $159, for just the convenience of having my pet live with me. So again, the moral of the story is to read the fine print everyone. and when inspecting the apartment, look at EVERYTHING! Even the tub!
