From the outside, this strip mall along 11th Ave looks a little sketchy but I think this is mainly because of the Mac`s on the corner (or the crowd that seems to want to hang out infront of the Mac`s). But the liquor store itself is pretty great so don`t be discouraged.
There`s a fridge with bombers as you walk in (generally around $7-$10 each) and a fridge of chilled wine. The rest of the wine is divided by region with well-labelled prices, and a few sale items out the front. There`s also a big walk in chilled beer section that I`m sure I`ll check out more next time - yesterday was all about the wine!
I know what you want to know - yes, I saw at least two bottles of wine for $10. I picked up a bottle of Miguel Torres Las Mulas Cab Sauv for $13.50 on sale (about half way between the sale and full price at Co-op), and a bottle of Mr Black`s Little Book Shiraz (2014) for $17, which is normally around $20 at other places from what I`ve seen.
Best of all, the prices all include GST and the deposit which is a nice change so what you see is the final price.
