  • I've been coming to this restaurant since the mid 90's. I am now in my 30's and still frequent on ocassion. The last time we were here it was great. We came for lunch and were able to sit outside near the pond. The menu was as I remembered. Tonight was different. Sunday night about Tom and the wait was 45 minutes for first available. We found a seat at the bar and an hour later my husband went to check how much longer and he was told "hopefully" another twenty-five minutes. Just as we were about to order our buzzer went off. We were seated inside, in the back, against the wall and across from three empty tables next to the windows near the pond. It happened to be my birthday dinner and my husband asked to be moved to the tables near the window. The hostess responded with "you're more than welcome but you would need to go back up front and wait in line and I would need to seat this table immediately".....which is understandable because of the wait. But the way she said it was rude. As for the menu; it was different. I ordered my "usual": cheese enchiladas. It came with two sauces...not the standard red. When my husband ordered the carne asada Chile rellano he was asked "how he wanted it cooked". That's odd. I've never been asked how I wanted my carne asada cooked. "Medium rare?". The dish arrived with three pieces of "steak" and a poblano stuffed with mashed potatoes!!!!! I've never encountered this type of Mexican cuisine anywhere. And I thought I was quite knowledgeable concerning the cuisines of Mexico. It just wasn't what I expected or wanted for my birthday dinner.
