| - I can only echo the reviews of others who have experienced very poor customer service at this store. Peggy, the old lady, is a rude b*tch and resentful of the customers when things get busy. There are some common courtesies that cost one NOTHING but go a long, long way towards dealing with situations where people have to wait because there's only one person available.
One of them is to make eye contact with the customer instead of avoiding their glance like the world's worst waiters often do. Also, if you're going to be a while at a certain task, let them know that OR!!!! ask them what they came in for. I just needed to drop off a package. I did not need to pay for it (maybe she was pissy because I wasn't going to spend money there... but I do, or used to, on other occasions! Not any longer!). I could have just handed it to her and been on my way 10 minutes sooner if Peggy had just thought to ask what I needed. And for fk's sake, say something to the customer when they leave. "Have a nice day!" "Sorry about the wait!" "Thanks for coming in!" SOMETHING.
Or, if you want to be sure customers don't come back... do as Peggy does. Avoid eye contact. Don't apologize for the wait. Don't say ANYTHING when your business with them is done, as a passive-aggressive "don't come back, asswhole" going-away message. Make customers with very simple transactions wait and wait and wait. Make sure to wear your surly and unhappy face when dealing with more than one customer at a time.
Sorry I ruined your afternoon by coming in, Peggy. I promise that won't happen again.
