They assured us a couch was leather. We asked 'you mean, 'real leather''? 'Oh, yes', they replied. 'Real leather. Will last forever and just look better and better as it ages'. Leather furniture doesn't need to be labelled to the same standards as upholstered so you can't tell from the label. Seven years later and the couch is cracked and peeled and looks completely crap. Turns out it's bicast leather. Not real leather at all. Same old scam as run by places like The Brick and now illegal in many other countries. In response they simply stated that bicast leather is leather (obviously it's not) and that Urban Barn maintains the highest possible ethical standards. Straight out of the customer service management training course but entirely untrue, evidently. I would advise against shopping at Urban Barn owing to the way in which we were mislead. We now have to buy a new sofa, and it won't be from Urban Barn!
