I went yesterday to Marvel and... seeing the reviews here, I was prepared to live with whatever they give me. I was only asking for three foils of highlights anyway. Before I even walked in, a student walked out and although she was done for the day, she smiled at me and told me where to go for the girls to help. Then I went into reception and all the girls (students) standing there gave me compliments about my hair and were intrigued about what I wanted done. They were super friendly. My stylist was already one of the girls waiting at the front. She guided me and gave me a full consultation before calling the teacher over. The teacher was very thorough and checked my hair for a long time before coming up with a formula. I was actually getting my lowlights fixed as another hair school (Aveda) messed it up, and this Marvel student fixed it to 100% of my satisfaction. Now my hair is exactly how I want it. The only "next time" I have is that the blowdry could be better. Even at Delmar College (another hair school), the students would give professional-looking blowdrys that last for days. But you know what? For the price I paid at Marvel and considering the color was perfect, I'm not going to complain, and I'm definitely not going to take off a star for that. I would also recommend putting on a heat protection spray before blowdrying, because during the blowdry I felt like my hair was yanked a little and I knew something was different.
