  • You could tell if a place is good by the amount of people dining in. It was busy the day my cousin and I went to eat here, and I feel like a good crowd really determines if the sushi is worth it. (You know, "the bigger the crowd, the better" type of mentality). Yama Sushi seems to have a big fan base since I always hear people talk about it a lot, and my friends tell me that it's always busy whenever they go. I really like that it's down the road from UNLV's campus because you don't really find any good places to get your grub on around there. My cousin and I decided to go with the AYCE lunch special. It's pretty fairly priced (a little lower than average), and you can indulge in some pretty good sushi rolls! The interior is small compared to some other sushi places, and the seating may be a little packed. We sat right next to another table with just a small divider keeping my elbow from knocking into the person next to me. Service was okay, and they had different people check up on us throughout our time there. It wasn't warm and friendly, but it was fast and efficient. I liked most of their rolls, but I think the side orders are what really won me over. The Palm Job was pretty bomb, and the sashimi salad is the best thing if you don't feel like eating sushi rolls. Ask for the creamy sauce when they ask! Even though Yama Sushi has a cramped interior, the appetizing sushi and sashimi made up for it. I'm so glad my cousin showed me the ways of Yama!
