  • I have always liked the Bellagio since it opened. It has a certain style that I enjoy. The Hotel has also been able to kind of keep up with all of the newer competition on the strip. It seems to be a mecca for foreign visitors, like the Venetian. I'm not sure why. Maybe their travel agents promote these properties. The beds are very, very comfortable and I really enjoy my sleep here. I can't give the Bellagio 5 stars however. Here's why. 1. Customer Service. Its spotty. The really good customer service comes from those who routinely get tips. I guess you could tip every employee if you wanted to, but you would still get so-so customer service. Their Customer Service does not match the image they put out. The Girl at Check in was an arrogant Bitch (no tip), and I don't know why, she is on the other side of the counter. The Bell hop was super (tip). The waiter at the Bellagio Cafe, slow but friendly (tip), the ladies doing traffic management at the Cafe, annoying and curt (no tip). The only employees that gave good consistent customer service was the Housekeeping staff. All of them were friendly, would look you in the eye when passing by in the Hall and say "Good Morning" or at least "Hi." Whether they were morning cleanup or turn down attendants, Housekeeping had to be the absolute best. The Pool Staff, second. The rest of the crew, from Gift Shop to Concierge, so-so and Hot/Cold. I do understand that because of the thousands of people moving through the place every day, how can you really get good customer service. There are kind of overwhelmed by the crowds. Fine. But that doesn't mean that being bitchy, rude, put out, and sighing at every question needs to be inflicted on the customer either. The customer allows them to keep their jobs. 2. The Pool. I really like their Pool. It can be hard to find a place to sit because of the crowds, but at least the crowds are Hotel Guests. I really like the fact that only Hotel Guest are allowed to use the Pool. This isn't the case at other Hotels, like the Monte Carlo, and maybe Caesar's"s Palace. I wish there was more seating available at the Pool, and there is a lot, but not enough for all Hotel Guests. Also, when we were there, the Pool was sometimes like French Rivera Poolooza. Don't get too excited. The topless women were not like swimsuit models, but more like androgyny. You stare because you don't know of it's a he or a she, a ma'am or a sir. 3. The Crowds. It's very crowded. I like the Bellagio, but its not my favorite Hotel. You pay a lot for a standard room with nice finishing touches. I will say, that the rooms have been clean and kept up. Amazing considering the amount of people the sift through the place. The Hotel can thank their Housekeeping staff for that.
