Tracks is a good pub that could easily be so much better than it is. They have two home brewed beers which are both enjoyable, if not spectacular. Does anyone else in Brampton make their own beer? Seriously, I think they may be the only ones. Also, they are very very cheap. And you can see through some windows in the place where it is all done.
The building itself is very historic and gorgeous. They have a cool area with a fireplace and wingback chairs where you are very tempted to grab a snifter of brandy on a cold winter's night. Their patio is also very nice, right under the railway tracks which is where they get their name.
The crowd skews much older (like 50's, 60's maybe) which adds to the unfortunate dive-y feel of the location. Skip the food unless you want very very basic things. I got the bruschetta once and the tomatoes were practically grey. I mean that's kind of my fault for getting bruschetta at a pub but still.
With the right management, this place could EASILY become a more hip brewery with a more ambitious menu and younger crowd who's going there for more than a beer as they sit by the bar. It's almost a shame that this will likely never happen as they seem to be the type of business perfectly content with how things are. And I'm okay enough with that for now!
