| - I had a very good experience here. I'm hovering between 4 and 5 stars, but I don't want to break their streak, so it's 5 stars.
Salon is narrow, but well organized with the wash stations in the back and salon chairs in the front by the windows.
I booked a same day appointment for wash and cut. Since I had no preference for stylist, I was assigned Karen. This was the first time I met Karen, so she asked lots of questions about how I like my hair cut/styled and what my routine is. I think I might have given her some conflicting answers, because I don't have a fixed routine and my hair length has gone up and down lately. Showed her a few photos on my phone for haircuts I like, and asked that she replicate one of them (my usual strategy with all stylists because pictures are just better than words in this case).
She did a great job on the cut. I could see it taking shape while my hair was damp. However, Karen ended up styling my hair too "casually" for my liking. Probably because of all the conflicting answers I had given her before. I ended up leaving with a beach-y wave that she scrunched into shape (admittedly very effortlessly) that did not suit my style or hair (in my opinion). Still, I do love the haircut. After styling it myself for the last two weeks, I can say I really like it. She got the photo I showed her right on and did a great job managing my thick hair.
Seems like a lot of the reviews are of Su and Karen. I would agree that they're both personable, friendly, and very good at what they do. Plus, it seems they speak English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
