Went there on Wednesday after work for dinner and must say it was delicious. We split the alligator, he had the gumbo (extra spicy), and I had the leak/brie pasta.
The alligator was disappointing not because of the tastes, it was extremely delicious. It tasted like a mix of chicken and calamari with a spicy seasoning. Heavily breaded and heavily spices. The sauce that came with it tasted almost like the onion petal sauce from the Outback. However it was so small and it came on a long plate. There were 12 small pieces of it. There was more sauce than alligator and it was $13! Never again.
His gumbo wasn't particularly spicy and it had too much tomato sauce but it was close to New Orlans. Can't complain too much considering how far away we are. My pasta was extra saucy and small. The dish it came on was huge too. Why the excessive presentation?
Biggest complaints? No po'boys, no ghost peppers, and no jazz through the speakers! Plus the decor looked as if they were getting ready for Mardi Gras. Nice artwork though and the waiter was a sweetheart (thanks Miles!). He was attentive and polite.
All in all I probably will not go back for dinner. Granted we tipped Miles well the cost was just excessive for how little we got. Will try again for lunch one day.
