| - ...More like zero star. 1 because there is no choice to opt for zero or anything below that. 1 star is generous for this place. Too generous.
In the Markham area with 30 minutes to waste and in desperate need to get some threading done, I call ahead to specifically ask if they thread as I can't use wax on my face. They inform me that they do and that they charge $10 for a full face threading service. Get there within 5 minutes of my call, thinking it's a good deal and comparable to prices in Mississauga and Brampton. Once the lady has done 1/4th of my face, literally, she stops and says I hope you know it's $15 for threading. I remind her of the phone call 5 minutes ago, now there's two ladies involved in this conversation adamantly opposing that they would ever say that and they ask a lady at the back if she was on the phone who confirms she was ( forget the voice, she didn't even have the same accent when I called) who states she said it was $10 for waxing. I am now vexed because why the hell would I bother to call you and tell you I have sensitive skin so I am only interested in threading only to be told 5 minutes later that they heard me ask for waxing (it doesn't even rhyme so they weren't really insulting my intelligence more than appearing to be a bunch of greedy stupid people). What the hell were they expecting a customer to do after they do 1/4th of their face and informing them of this sudden change and increase in price. I got into a Sophia from Modern Family fit and they eventually told me they would do it just this one time.
She then proceeds to thread my face then tells me the chin is actually considered the neck area and hence an extra $5 would be charged. Then trying to make me look cheap by saying I shouldn't think of $5 and get it done as it would look awkward. I was just so furious by this time and before my potty mouth started, I just thought I'll pay her the $5 extra and never return. I have been waxing and threading since I was 12 years old and also have done laser treatments for over 2 years, I am by no means even remotely hairy as clearly I have taken care of my skin for many years NOR do I have a double chin that could possibly be confused for a neck.
Oh wait, did I mention their website also shows full face threading for $10?
Nothing annoys me more than businesses that try to cheat people, if you would like to charge more - just charge it and be honest from the beginning - it's your business, you decide on your prices. But don't be cheating people coming in there after you agree on a price, start work on them and then go about trying to squeeze more money out of them.
Very unprofessional attitude towards customers and also they did a terrible job which I had to go correct at another salon. Save yourself your $$ and the hassle and go to another place.
