| - I am a huge fan of this chain's competitor, Burgatory. I had heard mixed reviews for BRGR, but thought it was worth assessing for myself which was indeed the burger regent supreme. I ordered the Gobbler, which includes a turkey burger, sage stuffing, pickled green beans, and cranberry relish on a buttered brioche, along with an almond praline milkshake. The shake was good.
A note about the service, which docked a star from my rating. First, the server was unbelievably rude to one of my dinner partners when carding him. She grabbed his ID roughly, and scowled as she spent about 5 minutes assessing he legitimacy of his license. Note- we all look a little young, but he is well over 21. Second, my dinner partners are both gluten free (not by choice), part of what made us select this location - they have a dedicated GF fryer. The server left our table after we had thanked her for the restaurant's attention to GF needs. Her sarcastic parting words - "We will TRY our best to make sure everything is gluten free"....Hmmmm. Not the most confidence boosting when A) it's not a choice, and B) when we just mentioned that we drove nearly 30 minutes out of our way to get to your location...
The turkey burger was tasty, but not at all memorable. My dinner partners said their beef burgers were good, not great. They were not very polite when my friend asked for a burger a touch off rare. Our Cajun tater tots were more like paprika tater tots. I'm just not convinced that this place is worth the drive or the money. I will almost certainly NOT be back. Maybe with a different server the food would earn 3 stars, but I don't think I'll be driving out this way for a burger again.
