| - Coming from Santa Maria, California, which is winery/vineyard heaven.... I was ecstatic to learn an official winery is in the city. Aside from tasting flights at Double Helix and self-serve tastings at Hostile Grape, I've missed the traditional wine room tastings that I'm used to from my hometown.
No, you don't get the scenic vineyard and perfect weather, but they do have their barrel room where you can go In for a tour. Again, I'm comparing them to California vineyards because I want to say, "these are usually those cool caves they have in Cali vineyards where the barrels are stored."
The day we wanted to come celebrate our friend's birthday, was the day they had their grand opening party. We paid for the $25/head tickets which included 5 tastings, a full glass, and a stemmed goblet. I'm a bold sometimes medium red kind of girl, so the Syrah was my fave. Zin was really nice too. I think I'm stuck in Santa Maria because the Syrah was definitely my jam, and Santa Maria vineyards specialize in a lot of Syrah lol. Wish they threw in some cheese and crackers for the event, because it was too cold to wait outside for food truck food.
Our experience was great. We found a table in the tasting room and stayed there for most of the party just to chat and have our tastings comfortably in a warm room. I definitely will be returning throughout the year for more.
