  • We have 3 kitties from divers backgrounds. We adopted the senior kitty (V) from the county shelter at the beginning of May 2014. North Buckeye Animal Hospital is on a list of animal hospitals that provide one free wellness exam within 10 days of adoption, provided by the shelter as a piece of information. We had V tested for FIV and FeLV at the shelter immediately after adoption and the test result was negative, but he seemed to have some respiratory problems as well as on-and-off tummy problems. So we took him to North Buckeye Animal Hospitals on Day 5. *FIV & FeLV test at MCACC is $35 and you can get the result in 10 to 15 mins. He was seen by Dr. Evans who is very friendly, caring, professional and thorough. After the wellness exam, we had Senior Screen done on him, along with an antibiotic injection, and took L-Lysine and dewormers home. It was about the price of iPad Mini all together. Inexpensive? Definitely not. But I believe it's worth it when he is not the only fur child in the family and you want to make sure that every one of them stays healthy. We also took Kitty #1, Chi, for his rabies shot a few days later. He was treated for some infection at Arrow Animal Hospital in March. NBAH and ArrowAH are sister hospitals. We got V's test result during Chi's visit. Dr. Evans took the time to explain to us (mostly to my husband who is i love with V) what hypothyroidism is, and V is now on medication. Chi is a big fan of Dr. Evans and he wanted to shed his fur all over her. You might be surprised to see your estimated bill when the veterinarian assistant speaks to you after the consultation. You might see lots of expensive medications and treatments etc on it. But that is what they believe is the very best for your kitty (or pup), and they are not mandatory. Our estimated vet bill for Chi at Arrow was also equivalent to iPad Mini price, but after a Q&A session, we chose to put him on simple steroid & antibiotics treatment and that cost us $100 at the end of the day. He was fully recovered in 3 weeks. So, probably you want to ask them what each every one of them are for before you decide they are pushy sales people. Because they are not. On both occasions at NBAH, we experienced no waiting. Their office is clean, staff members are very friendly. It was a pleasant surprise to receive a follow-up call the day after Chi's rabies shot - Such a caring touch. We'd rather not have to see them often, but if any of our fur children requires veterinarian's attention, this is where we will be. I highly recommend this animal hospital.
