I give the MCACC five stars because we are absolutely in love with the dog we found and adopted at the East Valley Animal Care Center.
At first the East Valley shelter can be a bit overwhelming. After all there are A LOT of barking dogs looking for a home. If you take your time (and get used to the noise), I hope you, too, will find a wonderful companion to bring into your family. You might also consider one of the smaller MCACC shelters (such as the PetSmart one).
The adoption process itself is really straightforward and easy. You need to sign some paperwork and pay. (I believe the cost is $75 for dogs older than 6 months). It only took us a few minutes. For $25 you can also get your new pet microchipped. Vaccinations are also very reasonably priced.
Our pup did pick up a case of the kennel cough, which in my experience is pretty normal. So please note that a vet appointment soon after adoption is advised.
