  • Baymont Inn offered the best bang for our buck. We found an available room with 2 queen beds for $67 this past Saturday which was an excellent deal considering what we would've had to cough up had we opted to stay on the strip. I'll start with the great -- The employees at the front desk were extremely friendly and accommodating! We received a very warm welcoming, and she was very thorough in explaining the ins and outs of Vegas as well as going over hotel policies with us. I initially assumed that she would be the only friendly face amongst hotel staff, but every employee we walked by greeted us with a big smile. On Sunday when we checked out early in the morning, they kept our bags for us until 4PM when it was time for us to leave. I'm not entirely sure if this is a standard practice in Vegas, but it was highly appreciated! The good -- It has all your basic amenities including a LCD television (with satellite channels), wifi, air conditioning, coffee/tea, complimentary toiletries, hair dryer, iron, and ironing board. There's also an outdoor pool, fitness center, shuttle service, and free breakfast served until 9AM. The beds were clean and the restroom was relatively spotless albeit a little sterile. Our hair dryer was broken, but I cannot say that it bothered me much. We didn't visit the pool nor the fitness center, we didn't use the shuttle service, and we didn't partake in the free breakfast so I cannot comment on them. The bad -- The bed frame is annoyingly and dangerously misplaced because it protrudes out from underneath the bed. I ran into it and tore and bruised skin, and I stubbed my toe on it several more times. I wasn't even drunk! Perhaps they should rethink the decor. On top of that, what bothered me the most was that there was no fridge! How was I supposed to keep my food from going bad and my drinks cold? Boo! Because the hotel was approximately a mile from the strip, we opted to walk several times in the heat which wasn't as terrible as we expected. If you're not up for walking too much, the front desk can call you a cab. Each time we did, it took less than 2 minutes for a cab to pick us up. If your driver is smart, he will take the small streets to get you there quickly. Our average tab was ~$10 with $2-3 tip. For the most part, we saved money, and we didn't miss out on anything in the process. I'm a happy camper!
