I was going to begin service at East Valley Family Medical, as my girlfriend goes there. She had said they were generally very rushed, but I thought I would at least give them a try just to have us both going to one place. After reading over the new patient forms I found that refills by phone, even from the pharmacy, were not permitted! Any prescription refill would require a doctor's appointment.
East Valley Medical gave one illogical reason of "delays occurring in transmission of faxes from the pharmacy to our office and vice versa, due to either technical difficulties or heavy loads of refill requests that staff has had to cope with in short time frames has caused unwarranted misunderstandings and further telephone calls."
I hope other potential patients consider this lack of customer service before wasting their time.
I was lucky to find this out before I wasted time at the first appointment and called to cancel. Calling to cancel also took a few tries as no one picked up the phone and no hours information was provided on either the website or the phone menu.
