  • LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH BAIT AND SWITCH GAMES About a year ago when AT&T got involved with Direct TV I switched my carrier from AT&T to T-Mobile because I kept dropping calls. Switching to T-Mobile, however, was a bad mistake. First, T-Mobile had a program where they would pay-off your prior contract and phone with your other provider if you switched to them. I complied with all the requirements and got the emails telling me that they received everything. T-Mobile, however, did not pay off AT&T as promised. Every month AT&T dings my credit because T-Mobile did not do what it said it would do. Every time I try to address this issue with T-Mobile I get nothing but a run around. Second, they sold me the Galaxy Note 4 which had more problems than I would care to list. I eventually went back to T-Mobile when the Note 5 came out. The T-Mobile sales girl at the Boulevard Mall Store sold me the Galaxy Note 5. She also sold me this plan where by paying a fee, I could switch and upgrade at any time I wanted. This feature was especially attractive to me because should I not be happy with the Note 5 I could go back in and upgrade again. As for T-Mobile Service: A couple months ago I took a trip to Louisiana and drove through Texas. I got zero phone service. Driving for hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of miles across Texas with NO phone service was not a good feeling experience. Especially since I had been having car problems and was out there in no-man's land. Today I decided to go upgrade my phone to the new Galaxy S7 Edge and went down to the Boulevard Mall to the T-Mobile Store and spoke with the sales clerk. First the sales clerk tells me all the Galaxy S7 Edge's they had were sold out and said they could order one. The sales clerk then looked up the account and said I did not qualify for the upgrade or switch. I asked why was I paying every month for a switch program if I couldn't get it? I was told that I could get it, but only if I paid half my phone off first. I asked why I wasn't told at the time by the salesgirl who sold me the switch plan that I would have to pay off half the phone first to take advantage of it? I was told, "Oh, but Sir, you were told and we have your signature on the contract to prove it." This is a great lesson here, never sign ANYTHING without first thoroughly reading it and totally understanding it! Having some sales clerk summarize it and tell you what it says doesn't work. Not when you're doing business with professional bait and switchers who tell you one thing, when in reality it's something completely different. In my case I, however, did not go to T-Mobile alone, but with the same person who accompanied every time I went to T-Mobile; who witnessed each and every transaction and listened to each and every conversation. The person spoke up today telling the sales clerk that he was there when the conversations took place and explained how he asked questions of the salesgirl and was not just assured, but re and re-assured that I could upgrade my phone any time I wanted and that there were no secret or hidden clauses. The sales person today said something entirely different. Stating it was not the sales clerks job to tell me everything, that it was my responsibility to read the contract. When they asked me if I knew the name of the salesgirl who sold me the switch plan I, I asked them if they remembered the name of every sales clerk they had done business with in the past year? I did not recall her name and told them her name would be on the sales order. That they did not like and began to get a little short and rude with me even denying that she failed to inform me accurately, but ended with "Well, we have the signature on the contract so it really doesn't matter!" My partner got frustrated with them advised we go to Sprint. We left. Went to Sprint, got the new S7 Edge and what was the most shocking was that my monthly bill for the same plan I had with T-Mobile was $50 a month less with Sprint! And they had the phones! Every time I have gone to T-Mobile I have been worked by the sales clerks at that store. Always leaving feeling like I am paying more than what I should be and being told whatever they thought I would want to hear to close the deal no matter whether what I was being told was true or not. It was all about the sale. I would recommend that EVERYONE who does any business with T-Mobile at the Boulevard Mall that they take separate recording devises with them and record the conversation with the sales clerks you do business with and save it. This way you will have evidence of the bait and switch games that go on at that store.
