My friends and I stopped by here one Sunday morning for lunch while we were in town. We had gotten there a little early and the restaurant wasn't open yet. We were content to sit in the car and wait the 20 minutes or so before the restaurant officially opened but this little old man, who I am assuming to be the owner, was standing outside as we drove up and motioned for us to come on in. He then preceded to walk inside the restaurant and turn on the OPEN sign, still 20 minutes early. When most people were fine with having customers wait in the parking lot until opening time, which we were prepared to do, it was a sweet gesture.
The restaurant itself is pretty spacious and can accommodate large groups. The décor is a bit outdated but clean. And the food is typical Japanese food excellently prepared with reasonable prices. Ishi is very generous with their portion sizes in my opinion. After lunch, we were all in food comas and had for force ourselves not to drive home and take naps. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive even though we were there early and probably intruding onto their own lunchtime before starting their shifts. I will definitely have to come here again next time I'm in town and craving Japanese food.
