| - I've been to Zagara's a few times now, and I find it to be a pleasant alternative to Dave's, which, if you've read my previous reviews, I am not thrilled with. This particular store is located in the Cedar Lee area, filled with shops and entertainment, and it has a Whole Foods-y feel to it; lots of great options from high end to low end for all types of products.
The produce is what really sells this place; while it's not as cheaply priced as I'd like, it's generally fresh, and it's difficult to find a moldy strawberry in the place; they seem to maintain the department well. They also have a good deal of herbs and spices, including one of my favorites: Fresh ginger root.
And best of all, when compared to Dave's, the prices are far more reasonable. I'm not certain why canned cat food has become my standard, but it's about 20% less expensive here than at Dave's, and everything else is reasonably low priced. They have a ton of healthy options (Low fat/low sodium does not equal healthy!) in the store, and a great selection of imitation meats, a personal favorite of mine as a vegetarian.
One thing I don't like: The loyalty card program. I categorically hate loyalty card programs. It's all right, though; I gave them a fake number that I can easily remember when I signed up, and I use that every time.
