Have stopped here before on occasion when in the area, but this is not my main grocery store usually shop at the Safeway on Happy Valley. What a shock the POOR SERVICE and just plain RUDENESS of the employees was from start to finish on my visit today.
First off came in for some fish from their full service seafood counter. When I got to the counter there was one woman being helped ahead of me. Noticed two other employees behind the counter other than the one waiting on the lady in front of me, but thought this guy must be the seafood counter guy. Apparently not as when this gentleman finished waiting on the lady he simply walked away from the counter completely ignoring me. Didn't look at me, acknowledge me or anything! He moved to the back of the shop and started talking to another employee. WOW! Got the attention of the third guy behind the counter and got what I came for.
Second strike came at the checkout stand. Got to the express lane with one person in front of me (an employee) just finishing up his transaction so I thought this would be quick. NOPE! just then another employee walks up and starts questioning the cashier about his schedule and all three of them start discussing their work schedules. Again completely ignoring me not a Hi or hello or any sort of acknowledgement after a minute of this I picked up my items and went to another check out. Thank goodness this cashier Jeanie was quick although one item was rung up at the wrong price.
Third strike came at their customer service counter when I went up there to question why the salsa I bought was rung up higher than what the shelf tag said. First off no one was there so I waited as well as two other people for someone to show up. Someone did come up and help me after a couple of minutes, but AGAIN no greeting or acknowledgement at all when this you woman comes up. She just stared at me like I was bothering her. So I start to explain that I had been charged more than what the shelf tag was on the Salsa I bought. She still says absolutely nothing just takes the salsa and walks off. Even the customer behind me asks "Did she just walk off?". So the customer service clerk returns with the shelf tag and literally grunts to me "That's last weeks price". That is the entire conversation from this customer service clerk. She did refund my money on the item, but what a nasty person
Been a 30 year plus loyal Safeway shopper and this is the worst experience I have ever had at a Safeway.
