  • There's no shortage of cupcakeries in T.O. already, to the point that it's almost overkill but hear me out, DLish is pretty damned amazing and why you ask? It's all about the imported French sprinkles. Yes, as pretentious as that sounds these are no ordinary sprinkles...let me explain. You know when you get those really crappy generic cupcakes from the supermarket bakery, and they're covered in sprinkles be it rainbow or chocolate colored, they basically look like psychedelic mouse droppings and taste like stiff, mostly stale and indiscernibly sweet high fructose corn syrup pellets...in otherwords gawd awful and BORING! Leave it to the French to make something as simple as sprinkles pure genius, but what else can we expect but refinement from a place that invented the bidet? Dlish's cupcakes are blessed with these phenomenal little French sprinkles that are made from Belgian Chocolate and every single solitary granule is wonderfully rich and in smooth flavour and texture. Having said this, obviously the best flavour bets imo are the cupcakes with either vanilla or chocolate sprinkles. Another nice thing is that the cupcake varieties at Dlish are more natural flavour based vs the day-glo colour frosted or gimmicky named and flavoured cupcakes served at other places. Dlish also boasts a handy Cupcake flavour schedule with a breakdown of what cupcake flavours are baked and sold on whichever days https://www.dlishcupcakes.com/menu The first time I came here I was fortunate enough to be helped by the owner Verge who is impeccably polite and a wonderful ambassador for Dlish. Verge went on to carefully explain these cupcakes ideally shouldn't be refrigerated as they are FRESH baked everyday and handcrafted without preservatives or hydrogenated oils thus the refrigeration would just end up drying them out. Also kudos to their ergonomic box packaging/design which allows for a finger space to lift the cupcakes out of their allotted places in the box, which ensures you get a good grip on these bad boys, instead of a palmful of frosting. Don't let the super minimalist set-up fool or intimidate you into thinking these cupcakes are wimpy and don't let the price deter you either, because once you develop a taste for Dlish cupcakes you'll be possesed by the cupcake craving devil and soon you'll realise that Dlish cupcakes by design are like the Cartier of cupcakes. Expensive, yes but also classy and indulgently refined.
