| - I had 2 horrible experiences in the Emergency Room of this hospital.
The first incident was about 2 years ago, I went there for chest pains. The Nurse who was taking my vitals was rude and condescending. She asked me if I had High Blood Pressure and I said Yes. She asked if I was on medication, and I told her I hadn't been taking it. She said "That wasn't smart" and I told her I wasn't there to be lectured. So her UNPROFESSIONAL reply was "do you want me to help you or not?" I was so disgusted by the process, and uncaring attitude when I might be having a Heart Attack! that I just walked out.
To their credit, I filed a complaint, and Dignity Health, the parent company that airs those sweet but insincere "Human Kindness" commercials, followed up and talked to the employee.
Forward 2 years later, and I'm at the same hospital. I'm their because of an accidental overdose of pills. I go to have my vitals taken, and its the same nurse! She might not have recognized me, and she was Professional this time. I was taken in and given multiple EXPENSIVE blood tests, and seen by a Doctor for about 2 minutes.
After all the tests were run he came in and said "my blood work looked normal." I had taken more aspirins then I should have for pain, but I went to the ER because the nurse at the Poison Control Center told me 20 aspirins could kill me. After the fact, I found out she wasn't Competent either. It was only a mild risk.
So I'm feeling ok, and I want to go home. I know how hospitals charge you for EVERYTHING, and I do not want an additional charge for staying in a hospital bed all night.
The Doctor wanted me to stay, even after he said "Tests were normal."
When it was clear I was going to leave (Remember! As a patient, you have the RIGHT to Refuse tests or procedures or leave!)
He told me "If you leave you might die in your sleep!"
I HATE this hospital because they have little empathy, and the Doctor was So Greedy he wanted to SCARE me into staying! I think he was completely unethical.
I went home, and was fine the next day. I was later billed over $10,000 and I hadn't even stayed the night!!! My insurance paid for the majority, but I can't imagine how much more it would've cost in I had stayed.
I have ZERO confidence in the Professionalism or integrity of this hospital.
Thanks for reading.
