I went to the courthouse last week to serve as a witness in the marriage of two dear friends. They had a beautiful ceremony and reception in Georgia, but needed to make it official by the law. We arrived before 6pm, which is the published start of their magistrate-led ceremonies in Meck County. Everything seemed a little disorganized. The ordering of who arrived first was chaotic, and they didn't actually start until after 6:30, 30 minutes past the posted start time. When we finally got up the magistrate's desk, she was very pleasant and extended her warmest congratulations to my dear friends, which made the agonizing waiting and disorganization seem a little better.
