| - It was somewhat of a shock when at check-in we were told we'd be charged an additional $100 for 3 nights, the so called "resort fee". Well what can you do, decline to pay? But at least have more toiletries! When I called down to the front desk, I was on hold for a good 5 minutes(!!!) before reaching somebody (and I know they weren't even that busy) and that's not even the worst! I simply wanted some toothpaste and was told I ought go to the gift shop. WTF? My $30+ daily fee isn't enough to cover a 30 cents traveler's size toothpaste? I did go to Walgreens and get it, why would I let the hotel make money from me again?
We were placed in a room kinda close to the elevators, but they don't make much sound. There was, however, something that keeps beeping every 5 seconds and it lasted the entirety of our stay. I bet our neighbors heard it too and maybe it was reported. I saw a guy fixing the elevator but nobody came to address the beeping.
I decided to stay here because we had tickets to see Britney. The show was not bad and the stage was spectacular, but come on, Planet Hollywood, shell out some bucks to install big screens so audiences from the far sides can see the act!
It is nice to have a Miracle Mile shopping strip right inside the hotel, but boy, that together with the casino sure makes one confusing labyrinth to navigate. Three places I saw that were interesting but didn't get to visit this time (doesn't mean I'll stay here again just to check them out though):
- Earl of Sandwich
- Netsle Tollhouse
- Todai (all you can eat sushi!)
Seeing the Yelp survey for Wi-Fi availability brings back bad memory, it's "free Wi-Fi" because of the resort fee we paid, but only limited to 2 devices per day. Give me a break! I bet if they could charge for parking, they would!
