| - Last week I had a group of 10 people from work. We were all out-of-towners-- And it became my duty to find a place where we could have food and drink. Thanks to Yelp, I found Pig and Pickle! At 4:30pm I called for a reservation, and at 6:15pm we showed up and were seated immediately.
The staff was very friendly. We had a patient waiter, who had a second waiter with him whenever serving us. They were so good.
We got our drink orders in, and I forgot what everyone got. They have an extensive drink menu, whether it's cocktails, beer, wine or anything else alcoholic. I opted for beer, a Saison Dupont farmhouse summer ale. I had a hard time choosing because their beer menu is so diverse and interesting. With all the amazing choices, you should NOT order the usual commercial beer, eg Bud, Miller, etc.
I now can't remember all the food, but we ordered a lot. We started with a few orders of Shisito peppers that were cooked in a soy sauce mix of some sort. Some of these peppers were hit or miss in spiciness. I love spicy, but hit a really strong one, and for about 15 minutes my tongue was about to fall off. We also started with three orders of the kalbi lettuce wraps. The kalbi was medium rare and cut thick -- Which made it a little chewy. To round out the appetizers, we also had two orders of the Brussels sprouts. If you love Brussel sprouts, you must get these! I was annoyed that I had share with the group!
Everyone ordered all kinds of entrees. As for me, I opted for the steak, medium rare. I absolutely loved it. Simple as that.
I'll be returning to Scottsdale in a few weeks, and you can be certain I'll be here again!
