I was sadly disappointed with my recent experience at The Le Mont. While the view of Pittsburgh during dinner has to be one of the best, the food in no way my expectations in light of how this restaurant is promoted as a fancier high class place. I don't mind paying more for good food, I just wish the food here was worth the price paid.
My Caesar salad was soggy with too much dressing. After it was finally served to me, my husband realized it had even sitting on a serving tray behind us for 15 minutes.
This certainly explains the sogginess. My chicken saltimbocca deserves no higher rating than a 2/5. I could easily reproduce it myself, which is not a good sign. It wasn't that it was overcooked, but lacked flavor and had some sort of strange breaded exterior that was hard as a rock. Mashed potatoes were completely dry and bland. The lobster bisque also lacked flavor and contained about 2 pieces of lobster. I think I have had better soup from a can.
The phenomenal view of Pittsburgh, especially at night, is the only thing that caused me to give this review a 3 instead of a 2 overall. But for me, even the great atmosphere was tainted by a meal which seemed more like an afterthought.
I really wouldn't return here again by my own choice.
