  • Well lets just say that if I didn't live so close then this would be just about the last place I would shop. I try to avoid it at all cost but I also don't like keeping food in my house for a long time so I avoid doing the big grocery shop at Loblaws or Nofrills. Their produce often looks like it's going bad, but maybe that's because they get most of it from the USA, to which I ask why?! In the summer Ontario has so much fresh fruits and vegetables to offer and yet Metro gets their stuff from the States??? Not to mention that on several occasions I've gone home to find mold on some of my "fresh" berries. The same had happened on several occasions with milk! Change your stock Metro!! And I've got a question. What is up with the store layout? It doesn't make sense and it is so difficult to find some common items in there. Also, I always have to make sure that when I go I had time to wait in line, because I have never gone and not faced a ridiculously long lineup. Maybe it would helped if they had a few more people on cash and not walking about the store collecting baskets. Oh, and since when did it not become their job to bag groceries? Its become clear to me that when they do actually bag they have forgotten the lost art of bagging groceries. There are certain items you don't just throw in the bag (eggs). One day I just started bagging my own groceries and the cashier thanked me and then said that people always complain about the long lineups, but if they would just bag their own groceries there wouldn't be a problem. I beg to differ. So aside from all the things Metro has going against it it sure does have one good thing and that's its location.
