| - Oh my goodness, what an experience! If you have never seen the Grand Canyon from a helicopter, it's definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It's worth it.
That being said, we did start out with a lot of bumps in the road, figuratively speaking. When we arrived in Boulder City by shuttle, everything went smoothly until the computers went down and the staff had to manually calculate how to disperse the weight of all the guests and split them up evenly between helicopters. This resulted in a really long delay to our day. We were originally paired with a pilot named Hans who was super funny and chill and then switched to another helicopter with a pilot named Daniel who was also very kind and fun. But that delay to our day was a bit rough.
The helicopter ride is fantastic: having an aerial view of everything is so stunning. We landed inside the canyon and then took a boat ride on the Colorado River, led by some folks locally from the Hualapai Nation. This experience made up for the delay because our boat operator took pictures of all of us for us as well as helped us take some amazing panoramic views by rotating the boat 360.
Another reason why I can't give this a 5 star experience (on top of the delay) is that after this, our group had to figure out everything on our own as our tour guide never found us. We helicopter'd out of the river and to the SkyWalk where we were wondering where our tour guide was. My husband had to take initiative and figure out a meeting point for our group because we assumed we had to return to Boulder City in the same group since weight between guests had been pre-calculated for safety reasons on the helicopters?
Luckily, as our wrist bracelets were being scanned to get into the SkyWalk, they asked us where our SkyWalk Express guide was and we were like, "What guide?" They were super accommodating and found us a new guide really quickly, let us cut the line to get into the SkyWalk and comped us for the mishaps. Overall, the amazing experience made up for all the crazy mix-ups throughout the day. I would recommend this to all my friends and family.
