This little mom and pop shop is right out of the north shore of hawaii. If you have never tried Poke you should. I happened upon this spot wandering the Las Vegas chinatown looking for lunch.
Poke is a dish of sushi like fish which is marinated in soy sauce and sesame seed oil. It is often futher dressed with green scallion dice and/or seaweed.
I had the large bowl which allowed me to pick two of the pokes to be served on Japanese style seasoned rice. I chose the Tako (octopus) poke and a seaweed tuna poke.
It was delicious. It was fresh. It was very affordable. The blend of sesame and soy accentuated the fish and rice perfectly.
Try the Hawaiian Pinapple soda they sell from the case and go outside and eat it on the bench.
If you are really going for it head down to the Filipino shop two doors down and have them fry you a nice talapia to accompany your bowl!
