| - I made reservations here about 2 weeks prior to my visit - a late Friday night dinner. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, seeing as how the majority of the other restaurants I'd looked at in old Montreal were completely booked for any reasonable dining hour on the night in question. Suspicious...
Well, much to my delight, this place was great. A very small, intimate environment, made all the more interesting with authentic "cracked" brick walls fitted with candles, complete with running wax spillover. Very cool. In short, a great backdrop for a night out with the wife.
The service was great, our waiter was definitely on his game.
There's clearly an emphasis on seafood when it comes to the menu, so I decided on the warm octopus salad, and the squid ink seafood risotto. Both were prepared perfectly.
They also have a very good selection of wines by the glass, which seemed to me to have been curated very specifically, which is atypical of most restaurants these days, so extra marks there.
Overall, a great dinner with great service. If I lived near here I would definitely treat it as a go-to for casual dinners with family and friends.
