| - The nursing staff here is awful. As an RN myself I'm appalled at their behavior. I would never in a million years think that it's appropriate to have a work ethic like they do. This goes for the RNs, the LPNs and the CNAs. Their director of nursing needs to do something. Whoever it is, they either suck at their job, they are completely oblivious to how their staff actually performs, or they just don't care. We toured the facility with Arlene prior to coming here. And the reviewer who's said don't let the appearance fool you is right!! It's a nice looking place. I addressed some of the things brought up in other reviews. Mainly, the response time when a call light is hit. I can tell you it's about 20-25 minutes. We were told that staff cannot walk by a room with a call light on without addressing it, or at least getting the right person to address it. NOT TRUE. I was in the hall when my father's was on. At least 4 employees walked by in a 10 minute time frame and ignored it. The nursing staff is loud and disrespectful. My sister heard them talking about a patient in a room who kept getting out of bed, then they laughed about it. And this was at 2 am!! Their is no teamwork among them.
Actual conversation- after standing at the desk for 5 minutes being ignored. Any time you stand at the nursing station you are ignored. Not a single person acknowledges you.
Me: excuse me
LPN: (looks up) yeah
Me: my father is going home and we just got all the prescriptions and I want to know when he last had everything so I know when it's due.
LPN: what's the room number
Me: 216
LPN: oh, you need to ask the nurse. ( he then puts his head down and continues to fill out his paperwork and goes back to ignoring me).
How about- ok, Kay is the nurse. I will let her know you have a question and to come to your room.
My sister also called a CNA Tracy. Her response was "it's Tray, like I wrote on the board". Ok then.
Also, read the review by K L. It sounds like this place is great. Check out the rest of their reviews- a lot of them are short, sweet, and great- all for rehab facilities. They either work for them or they spend an awful lot of time in rehab.
The food is great as well as the actual PT part. I guess this place would be okay if you were younger and didn't rely on the help of the nursing staff- but I guess if that's as the case you wouldn't really need rehab!
